PRECLINICAL STUDIES

We use preclinical models of spinal cord injury to evaluate investigational therapies. Use rely heavily on magnetic resonance imaging to reveal the biologic changes to the spinal cord prior to evaluating functional outcomes.

Studies are currently funded by the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, Department of Veteran's Affairs, with prior funding also from the Craig H Neilsen Foundation.

The most promising MRI techniques are translated to human scanners and used in patient studies of acute and chronic SCI.

Studies are currently funded by the Department of Veteran's Affairs, with prior funding from the Craig H Neilsen Foundation and the Center for Imaging Research at MCW.
